As the European Union steps up its commitment to a circular economy, the packaging and logistics industries are facing a major regulatory shift. With the upcoming enforcement of thePackaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), manufacturers and exporters of returnable crates, pallets,
and logistics containers must act now to secure market access in Europe.
At Dongguan Yujie Industrial Investment Co., Ltd., we are proud to launch our advanced Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) Material Solutions,
specifically engineered to help global packaging manufacturers seamlessly transition to full PPWR compliance.

The PPWR Challenge: Meeting the 35% PCR Mandate
1. Mandatory Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) Plastic Content Proportions
Starting January 2030, all plastic packaging for non-food contact applications (including most industrial turnover boxes and logistics crates) must
incorporate a minimum of 35% recycledplastics. If manufacturers fail to meet the mandated PCR thresholds, their products will be banned from
circulating in the EU market or will face hefty penalties via the "Plastic Tax".
2. Verification and Traceability of Recycled Content
The regulation stipulates that recycled plastic content cannot be "self-declared." It must be fully traceable and verified through reputable third-party
certifications such as GRS (Global Recycled Standard) or ISCC PLUS. When sourcing materials, manufacturers must select PCR suppliers capable of
providing a complete chain-of-custody verification trail via Transaction Certificates (TCs).
3. Design for Recycling (DfR) Criteria
Turnover boxes must not only utilize recycled inputs but also ensure full recyclability at their end-of-life stage. This requires that container designs
avoid the use of additives, labels, or hard-to-separate composite materials that could impair or contaminate the downstream recycling stream.
4. Targets for Reusable Packaging
For internal transport of goods within EU member states, the proportion of reusable transport packaging (including pallets, turnover boxes, and
crates) must reach 40% by 2030 and escalate to 70% by 2040. Consequently, container bodies must be engineered for superior durability to
withstand multiple cycles of automated washing and heavy-duty reloading.
5. Labelling and Identification Requirements
Packaging must be clearly and visibly marked with its material composition (e.g., >PP<, >PE-HD<) and the exact percentage of recycled content.
Furthermore, it must feature a QR code or other digital product passports to provide accessible data regarding the packaging's recyclability,
reusability, and regional collection drop-off locations.
Engineered for Performance: High-Quality PCR PP & HDPE
One of the biggest hurdles in using recycled plastics for industrial transport packaging (like Euro pallets and heavy-duty turn-over boxes) is
maintaining mechanical performance. Traditional recycled materials often suffer from inconsistent impact strength, poor odor control, or tracking
issues.
Yujie’s PCR PP and PCR HDPE compounds are custom-formulated to solve these exact pain points, offering:
-
High Impact & Load-Bearing Strength: Ensures long service life and multiple reuse cycles in harsh logistics environments.
-
Automation-Friendly Consistency: Perfect for high-speed injection molding lines with stable MFI (Melt Flow Index).
-
Low Odor & Premium Aesthetics: Advanced washing and deodorizing technology ensures a clean finish with precise RAL Color Matching
capability.
